Garage Floor in Crestwood, KY
This two-car garage had an existing epoxy coating that was failing and needed to be completely removed before a new flooring system could be installed. Once removal began, extensive cracking and previous repairs throughout the concrete also had to be addressed.
We began by mechanically grinding away the old epoxy coating, taking the floor back to a properly prepared concrete surface. The existing cracks were then opened, cleaned, and repaired before the floor received a final grind to blend the repairs and create the proper profile for the new coating system.
Once preparation was complete, we installed our three-layer polyaspartic flake flooring system:
- Polyaspartic Tinted Base Coat – Provides excellent adhesion, durability, and fast cure times.
- Vinyl Flake Broadcast – Provides full coverage while creating a uniform appearance across the repaired concrete.
- Polyaspartic Clear Topcoat – Seals and protects the system against vehicle traffic, abrasion, chemicals, stains, and everyday wear.
The finished floor transformed a failing epoxy floor with extensive cracking into a clean, seamless, and durable garage surface built for long-term performance.
This project is also an important example of why a new coating is only as good as the surface underneath it. Proper removal of failing coatings, concrete repair, and mechanical preparation are essential to achieving a floor that lasts.
